What is a Portal Axle?
It’s a gearbox
that replaces your wheel hub
with an offset output
Performance Specs
-
Lifts your axles, not just the chassis. Run 35s with the clearance of 43s.
-
Multiplies your axle ratio by 1.25, reducing stress on your axle shafts and differential.
3.73 * 1.25 = 4.66
4.10 * 1.25 = 5.13
-
40 Spline Output, 1 Ton Bearings.
-
+4in per side.
Modular Design
Only four vehicle specific components:
Mount Plate
Input Gear
Brake Caliper Mount
Drive Flange
-
The core components remain the same on any application.
-
Standardizing more parts reduces costs by increasing manufacturing volume.
-
Upgrading to a new vehicle and want to keep your portals? No problem, we can provide new, vehicle specific parts for your new build.
-
New vehicle applications can easily be added, enabling customizations like different bolt patterns and offsets.
Components
-
Straight tooth spur gears for maximum strength and reliability. Teeth are ground after heat treating to reduce noise.
-
Billet machined from 6000 series aluminum for increased strength and precision.
-
Mount plate attaches to factory hub location.
Cases attach to the mount plate with 6 bolts for increased stiffness, which reduces the risk of premature gear failure.
-
SKF bearings are used throughout due to their renowned reliability. One ton output bearings ensure worry free wheeling even on the biggest obstacles.
-
40 spline output shaft is designed to take big hits and increase your smiles per gallon.
Drive flanges enable flexible bolt patterns and easy serviceability of output bearings.
