Modular Design
Portal Pros axles are built around a modular architecture that keeps things simple and adaptable. Each assembly uses the same core components across all platforms, with only four vehicle-specific parts:
- Mount plate
- Input gear
- Brake caliper mount
- Drive flange
This approach allows the portal axle to be easily transferred between vehicle platforms by swapping only the vehicle-specific components.
Gearing Calculation
- Axle Gear: 3.73 x 1.25 = 4.66
- Axle Gear: 3.90 x 1.25 = 4.88
- Axle Gear: 4.88 x 1.25 = 6.10
Recommended Upgrades
- Steering knuckle gussets
- Aftermarket ball joints
- Upgraded steering rack
- Upgraded tie rods
- Rear axle housing truss
- Wheels with positive offset (12mm-50mm, or 5in-6.5in backspacing) to reduce outer width and improve scrub radius
